Influenced by the iconic Prada Aoyama's blend of structural ingenuity and transparent elegance, my project, "Prada Piecing the Morning Web," stands as a testament to the symbiosis of form and function. Embracing the building's harmonious interplay of glass and steel, my design reinterprets these elements into a new, intricate exoskeleton reminiscent of a spider's web – a symbol of luck in Japanese culture. This web, both delicate and robust, supports the structure and sculpts the interior spaces, allowing for a fluid, open environment that embraces natural light and fosters an organic interaction with Tokyo's urban tapestry.
My architectural pursuit was to craft a building that marries art with utility, encapsulating the dynamic essence of Tokyo while offering a serene retreat within its complex geometry. The result is a space where light paints an ever-changing canvas of shadows, and the transparency of the façade invites the city inside. "Prada Piecing the Morning Web" is not just a structure but a living part of the city's narrative, a dialogue with Herzog & de Meuron's masterpiece, and a bold step into the future of sustainable, adaptable design.
